How to link your CCQ client file to your user account

With the improvements to the online services (SEL) of the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ), the creation of a user account is now required for everyone who wishes to use these services.

If you already have a user account, the next step consists of linking your existing CCQ client file to your user account.

Once your client file is linked to your user account, you won’t have to repeat this step each time you log in. If you have more than one client account, you can link them all to a single user account.

How do I link my user account to my client file?

Step 1: Access the login page

Go to sel.ccq.org to access the CCQ’s online services.

Step 2: Log in to the online services

Enter the email address and password associated with your user account.

  • Email address: the one used when you created your account.
  • Password: the one you chose when you created your account.

Click on the “Connexion” button.

Step 3: Chose a method for linking your file

If there is no file linked to your user account yet, you will be automatically directed to the linking screen.

On this page, three methods are offered for linking your file:

Method 1: Use your old online services accesses
Enter your old username and your old password for the CCQ’s online services. Make sure to have this information in hand. If these identifiers are valid, your file will be automatically linked to your account.

  • Worker or retiree: enter your client number preceded by “ci” (e.g., ci1234567) or the email address that you were previously using. You can find your client number on your competency certificate, your MÉDIC card, your application for benefits, or your annual pension statement.
  • Employer: enter your employer number preceded by “er” (e.g., er123456).
  • Association: entre your association’s acronym preceded by “as” or “ap.”
If you don’t remember this information, use another method.

Method 2: Answer authentication questions

You can answer authentication questions to confirm your identity. If the responses correspond to the information registered at the CCQ, your file will be linked.

If you don’t know the answers, try another method.

Method 3: Use the linking coordinates
Enter the linking codes (username and linking code) that you received by email.

Step 4: Link another client file

Once your first file is linked, a confirmation screen will display. If you have other files to link to your user account, click on the button “Sélectionner un profil” then on “Lier un profil” on the following screen. Repeat the process (starting at Step 3).

Step 5: Verify the linked files

After you link all the files you want to your user account, verify that the information displayed in your file in the online services (SEL) is accurate. If you see an error, contact our Customer Service for help.

Extra advice

If you have difficulty linking your user account to a client file, take the time to read the error messages on the screen carefully.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully link your client files to your user account.
