How to create a user account

In the improved online services (SEL) of the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ), creation of a user account is now obligatory for everyone.

To access a client file in the CCQ’s SEL, the first step is to create a user account.

Here’s a simple process to follow to create your account:

Step 1: Access the login page

Go to the SEL login page at sel.ccq.org. Click on the link “Créer un compte” to begin.

Step 2: Access the account-creation page

Email and password

  • Email address: Enter a valid address that you use often. You will use it to login and to receive emails from the CCQ, including sending of single-use codes.
  • Password: Create a secure password. Choose a password with at least eight characters that includes
  • uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
Confirm the password: Enter your password again as confirmation.

Click on the Suivant button.

First name and last name

On the next account-creation page, enter the following information:

  • Prénom: your first name
  • Nom de famille: your last name

Conditions for use

Read the Conditions d’utilisation carefully. Tick the box if you accept them.

Step 3: Enter the single-use code

After you create your account, an email with a single-use code will be sent to the registered email address. Open your inbox and follow the instructions.

If you don’t receive the code, read the article “Problèmes reliés à l’utilisation du code à usage unique.”

Enter the single-use code in the screen “Création de compte” and click on the “Valider le code” button. The “Bienvenue” screen will display, confirming that your account has been created.

Step 4: Link an existing file

With this step, your account is created. To consult information concerning you or another client file, such as your company’s, you must link the file(s) that you have with the CCQ.

The steps for linking your files are explained in the article “How to link your CCQ client file.”

Extra advice:

  • Use a different password for every website.
  • Keep your login information safe. Don’t share it.
